The GenDrone Platform


The GenDrone Platform is a long-endurance hybrid gasoline-electric VTOL multirotor platform designed for aerial missions that exceed the practical endurance of conventional battery-electric drones. It combines a gasoline engine, permanent-magnet generator, intelligent power conversion, and battery energy storage into a compact distributed power system.

The platform uses a gasoline engine to drive a lightweight permanent-magnet generator. Generated electrical power is converted and controlled to supply the aircraft DC power bus while maintaining a battery buffer for transient loads, engine-generator disturbances, and failsafe operation. This architecture allows the propulsion system to operate continuously without depending solely on stored battery energy.

GenDrone is designed around rapid field refuelling using commonly available gasoline. Refuelling can restore the primary energy source in minutes, avoiding the extended charging cycles and multiple battery packs required for long-duration battery-electric missions.

The platform is initially targeted at agricultural spraying, including nano urea and nano DAP applications, where longer flight duration can reduce battery swaps, charging requirements, and operational downtime. The same hybrid power architecture can support commercial and defence VTOL applications requiring extended airborne operation, higher payload capacity, and field-deployable energy logistics.

The GenDrone platform is built around a modular powertrain architecture that can be adapted across different multirotor configurations and payload requirements.
